This February, we will have only one Worcester craft workshop, but its sure to be a busy month!
Electronic Cutters: Creative Techniques
Our February workshop focuses on creative techniques with your machine: boxes, envelopes and vinyl.
We will show you how to create your own gift boxes using canvas and other vector drawing software. Learn how to prevent cracking, choosing suitable materials and even bonding different surfaces.
Learn how to create envelopes using the score features within canvas. We will also look at custom card bases that you can easily create using Canvas and other vector editors.
Create that personal gift using vinyl to personalise one of a selection of gifting objects. Choose your preferred item from our project desk, choose your vinyls and get cutting and sticking.
What can I expect?
We have a great class mix of beginners and more advanced students: this always makes for an interesting session as we all share our favourite hints and tips.
At each workshop, there are two tutors on hand covering IT as well as creative aspects. We can get you setup onto Canvas and also advise on additional software. We also help you integrate your electronic cutter with other tools in your craft room – printers, adhesive machines, foiling and laminating machines and die cutting machines.
What should I bring?
Your machine, a laptop/tablet (if you have one), a USB memory stick, your Brother accessories and mats and a basic crafting kit (adhesives, scissors, trimmer etc).
What will be provided?
At each session there is a pop-up craft shop with essential supplies, project kits and more. On each table there will be specialist tools that match that table’s focus. There will be card, papers, vinyls, glasses, frames and more as well as adhesives, essential tools available for immediate purchase and we also offer custom orders for a wide range of other crafting materials. These are typically delivered to your next class, or we can deliver upon arrival of your order.
When: 4/2/2018 10:30am-1:30pm
Where: Waitrose Community Room, London Road, Worcester
Price: £5.00 deposit to secure your place. Project kits range from £3 to £10 and include the use of specialist tools.
